When our co-founder Aanchal returned to Ibiza with her friends and family, the plan was simple: skip the late-night clubs and dive into the island’s softer side. The trip unfolded as a mix of scenic hikes, fresh-from-the-market meals, and lazy afternoons by the sea, all stitched together with COZY precision and her own sense of curiosity.

Where to Stay

For this trip, Aanchal stayed in a private villa tucked into the quiet northern hills. With four bedrooms, each opening to a private terrace facing the sea, and two pools that seemed to spill into the horizon, it felt like their own slice of the Mediterranean. Mornings began with coffee by the pool, the light bouncing off the water, and often drifted into long lunches under a bougainvillea-covered pergola.

One evening, Chef Charlie came to the villa with ingredients fresh from the Santa Eulària fish market. The scent of baby clams, Ibizan sausage, and sweet red shrimp filled the kitchen, turning dinner into a relaxed, laughter-filled night.

COZY Insider Tip: For travelers who prefer a hotel, Six Senses Ibiza in Cala Xarraca is a stellar choice. Expect farm-to-table breakfasts, a serene spa, and live music under the stars. We recommend the Sea View Junior Suite at pool level for direct access to the infinity pool and turquoise views of Xarraca Bay.

Hiking to Heaven’s Gate

One morning began with a short drive to Santa Agnès, the starting point for the Las Puertas del Cielo trail. This 3 kilometer round trip takes about 45 minutes each way, winding through pine forests and wild rosemary. The terrain is mostly shaded, but patches of loose rock make sturdy shoes a smart choice.

At the top, a panoramic view opens up with ochre cliffs meeting turquoise water and Es Vedrà visible on the clearest days. Aanchal remembers pausing here, letting the sea breeze and the stillness settle in before heading back down.

After the hike, the group headed to Sant Josep’s Saturday farmers’ market, running from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. They browsed zucchini flowers, sun-warmed peaches, wheels of cheese, and jars of homemade fig jam. Aanchal couldn’t resist fresh bread and a quiet coffee at a nearby café, watching the weekend unfold without a single glance at the clock.

COZY Insider Tip: We can arrange a private guide to time your hike perfectly with peak market hours, introduce you to trusted vendors, and recommend the best seasonal buys.

Exploring Dalt Vila

From the villa, it is a 30-minute drive south to Ibiza Town and its UNESCO listed old quarter, Dalt Vila. Best explored on foot, its steep cobbled streets lead to boutique shops, quiet squares, and panoramic viewpoints. Flat shoes are a must here.

For dinner, Aanchal booked Taller Sa Peña by Ibiza Food Studio, a hidden spot with only five tables. There is no menu, only a chef-led tasting that might include gazpacho, free-range chicken with local olive oil, and cheesecake with wild figs. The mantra “You are exactly where you need to be” hangs in the dining room, and on that night, it could not have felt truer.

COZY Insider Tip: We secure reservations weeks ahead and pair them with a golden hour stroll along the citadel walls when the marina glows in soft light. The wine pairing here is well worth it.

Beach Day at Experimental Beach

Cap des Falcó’s Experimental Beach was the group’s choice for a slow afternoon that faded into sunset. A 40-minute drive from the north, the beach offers sun loungers, a casual Mediterranean lunch menu, and cocktails infused with fresh herbs and seasonal fruit. The shore is pebbly, so water shoes make swimming more comfortable.

They sipped hibiscus tea, ordered strawberry basil gin fizzes, and let the Balearic beats hum in the background as the sky shifted into shades of pink and gold.

COZY Insider Tip: We reserve front row loungers for late afternoon so you can stay through sunset without moving an inch.

Sailing to Formentera

One highlight was a private sail to Formentera. Departing from Ibiza marina mid-morning, the 40-minute crossing revealed water in more shades of blue than Aanchal could name. They anchored off Playa de Ses Illetes, where the group swam, snorkeled, and stretched out on deck with rosé and a picnic of local cheese, fresh bread, and olives.

COZY Insider Tip: We will match you with the ideal boat, from sleek yachts to traditional llaüts, and stock it with exactly what you like for the perfect day at sea.

Sunset at Sunset Ashram

On the west coast, Sunset Ashram Beach lives up to its name. Arriving about an hour before sunset gave Aanchal time for a cocktail and a front row seat to the show. The sky shifted from orange to pink to deep purple, the waves mirroring every shade.

COZY Insider Tip: We reserve oceanfront loungers early so you can arrive at your leisure and still have the best view in the house.

Dinner at Juntos House

For their final night, Aanchal chose Juntos House in Sant Mateu, a farm and restaurant where most of the ingredients come from their own gardens. Dinner was served under string lights in a lush courtyard, with plates of roasted vegetables drizzled in olive oil, lamb with green mojo, and bright salads with pomegranate.

Before sitting down, she browsed their boutique, picking up locally made ceramics and preserves to take home.

COZY Insider Tip: Arrive early to explore the boutique before settling in for dinner.

A Week Without the Rush

This was Ibiza at its own pace with good food, unplanned afternoons, and the kind of moments that do not need an Instagram filter.
