Curated by COZY | Featuring Co-Founder Thiago Fortunato

New York doesn’t exactly invite stillness. But every so often, if you know where to look, you can find it.

COZY Co-Founder Thiago Fortunato was back in the city for his nephew’s graduation—a celebratory weekend, but not one he wanted to pack with meetings, dinners, or downtown chaos. “I wasn’t looking for Midtown madness,” he shared. “I just wanted something that felt personal, warm, and easy.”

He checked into The Greenwich Hotel—a discreet address on a quiet street in Tribeca. No flashy signs. Just a sense of calm that wraps around you.

The hotel itself balances two things beautifully: understated elegance and a lived-in kind of comfort. It doesn’t demand attention—it earns it. Walk into the lobby, and you’re greeted by rich textures, soft light, and quiet corners that say: stay a while.

His room continued the feeling—moody tones, layered fabrics, and a layout that flowed more like a loft than a hotel suite. “It reminded me of the place I used to live in New York,” Thiago noted. “So cozy, but with that elevated Greenwich touch.”

Beneath the hotel is Shibui Spa. One step into the pool area and everything slows. Suspended beneath a 250-year-old Japanese farmhouse roof, the pool glows softly in the dim light. It feels sacred. “I forgot I was in Manhattan for a while,” Thiago said. “It was meditative. You just float, and everything else fades.”

This, for COZY, is the real definition of luxury. Not loud. Not crowded. Just space to breathe, reset, and reconnect.

But let’s be honest—a perfect weekend isn’t complete without great food. And The Greenwich concierge understood the assignment.

First up was Kiko, a Japanese spot with LA roots that opened in Tribeca just last November. Minimal design, an intimate room, and food that lingers in your memory. “We ordered almost everything,” Thiago laughed. “But the thrice-fried chicken wing and the lobster crispy rice? Game over. Absolute winners.”

Night two was Frenchette, a Tribeca institution where the volume is high, the energy electric, and the bistro classics hit just right. “It’s one of those places where you don’t even try to talk over the noise—you just lean into it,” he said. “It’s chaos, but the kind you want to be part of.”

And for the finale: Raf’s. Romantic, candlelit, and slightly nostalgic. Stepping into another version of New York—the one people write poetry about. “It’s like a love letter to the city,” Thiago said. “You sit down, the lights are low, and suddenly you’re in your own movie scene.”

But the real magic? It wasn’t just the dinners or the design—it was the details. “In big cities, I always try to see it through the eyes of the concierge,” Thiago said. “It tells me everything about the soul of a hotel.” And at The Greenwich, that soul came through—curated, thoughtful, never performative.

Outside, Tribeca added its own texture to the stay. Broad sidewalks. Cafés that spill onto the street. And that golden hour light that turns everything cinematic. “There’s something about this neighborhood,” he added. “It lets you move slower, think clearer. At night, it really feels like a film set—but the kind where you’re the lead and no one’s watching.”

This wasn’t a trip filled with grand gestures. No rooftop parties, no jam-packed itinerary. Just quiet luxury. The kind that stays with you. A beautiful room. A perfect bite. A walk with no destination. A swim that makes you forget the world for a while.

For Thiago, it was a reminder that luxury isn’t always loud.

Sometimes, it’s just deeply and quietly COZY.
