Last week, we spent an afternoon at The Maybourne Beverly Hills creating content for a milestone we are still processing ourselves: COZY Travel’s recognition as a Forbes Travel Guide-Endorsed Agency.

The cameras were focused on capturing a moment for our brand, but as often happens when we travel, we found ourselves paying just as much attention to where we were.

For the photoshoot, The Maybourne welcomed us into the Garden Suite, one of the property’s residential-style accommodations. Between outfit changes, camera setups, and countless attempts to get the perfect shot, we had the opportunity to experience the hotel in a way many travelers do not. Not as guests rushing between meetings or sightseeing, but as people spending an entire afternoon living within the space.

What stood out most was not the glamour often associated with Beverly Hills. It was how comfortable everything felt.

A Different Side of Beverly Hills

Luxury hotels in Beverly Hills often compete for attention.

Some lean heavily into celebrity culture. Others focus on being seen.

The Maybourne takes a different approach.

Located in the heart of the Golden Triangle, the hotel sits within walking distance of Rodeo Drive, some of the city’s best shopping, and many of Los Angeles’ most recognizable restaurants. Yet once inside, the atmosphere shifts. The pace slows down. The property feels private, calm, and very residential.

The hotel’s 205 guestrooms and 57 suites were recently redesigned with a residential approach that favors comfort, natural textures, and spaces guests can genuinely settle into.

The Garden Suite captures that philosophy particularly well. Large windows flood the room with natural light, while the layout creates distinct areas to relax, work, entertain, or simply disconnect from the city outside.

For travelers staying several nights in Los Angeles, that distinction matters.

A beautiful room is nice.

A room you actually want to spend time in is much harder to find.

More Than Just a Place to Stay

One thing we have learned after years in the travel industry is that the best hotels create reasons for guests to remain on property.

The hotel is home to seven dining and drinking venues, including Dante Beverly Hills, The Terrace, and The Whisky Bar, which houses the largest collection of Macallan whisky in North America.

The rooftop pool remains one of the most appealing places to spend a sunny Los Angeles afternoon. Perched above the city with views stretching toward the Hollywood Hills, it feels more like a private club than a traditional hotel pool. This summer, guests can reserve cabanas, enjoy food and cocktails delivered from Dante Beverly Hills, or even participate in standup paddleboard yoga classes offered every weekend.

Then there is the spa.

Spanning more than 20,000 square feet across two levels, The Spa at The Maybourne Beverly Hills is among the largest luxury spas in Los Angeles County. The facilities include a mineral pool, steam rooms, sauna, cryotherapy, infrared therapy, fitness facilities, and a variety of wellness treatments designed around recovery and longevity.

For travelers arriving from a long-haul flight or looking to slow down after a busy week, it is easy to see why many guests spend an entire day there.

A Summer Worth Planning Around

What impressed us most is that The Maybourne continues to evolve beyond the traditional hotel experience.

This summer, the property has introduced a series of seasonal experiences that make a stay feel even more connected to Los Angeles.

London-based celebrity facialist Adeela Crown recently returned for an exclusive residency at the hotel’s Privé Skin Suite, bringing her highly personalized treatments to guests seeking advanced skincare and wellness experiences.

The Terrace has also introduced new summer programming inspired by the French Riviera, including weekly Pastis & Oysters evenings overlooking Beverly Cañon Gardens and an updated Golden Hour menu designed for lingering afternoons and early evenings.

With major international sporting events bringing visitors to Los Angeles this season, Executive Chef Damon Gordon has also created Culinary Goals, a globally inspired menu celebrating cuisines from nations competing in the city this summer. A portion of proceeds benefits the LA Galaxy Foundation, adding a meaningful local connection to the experience.

These are not dramatic reinventions. They are thoughtful additions that give guests more reasons to engage with the hotel beyond simply sleeping there.

Our Takeaway

We arrived at The Maybourne Beverly Hills to celebrate a milestone.

We left with a deeper appreciation for why the hotel continues to occupy such an important place within Los Angeles hospitality.

The property offers something that has become increasingly rare in luxury travel: balance.

Whether you are visiting Los Angeles for a long weekend, celebrating a special occasion, or looking for a hotel that combines location, wellness, dining, and privacy exceptionally well, The Maybourne Beverly Hills deserves a place on your list.

For us, it will always be remembered as the setting of one of the most meaningful chapters in COZY’s story so far.
